You are warmly invited to the opening event of our new exhibition at Papakura Art Gallery.

Join us at 11am for the official proceedings, followed by some light refreshments.

Close to Home is a collaboration between seven Tāmaki Makaurau based artists, working through an array of mediums. Displays of found objects, handcrafted quilts, printed poetry, and paintings are arranged in a naturalistic way to cultivate the feeling of home.

“A beam of light is trickling in, spilling onto the floorboards,
carrying with it the sound of soft conversations from the next room. Outside the black road shines, the power lines loom, orange streetlights glimmer, accompanied with the glow of the white moon.”

Close to Home runs from 28 June – 9 August 2025.

There are some exciting artist-led Public Programmes running alongside this exhibition.
